A one-stop shop. The goal of the Chamorro Community Service Center is to provide an efficient conduit to serve the needs of the Chamorro community. We provide case management, informational services, workshops, and linkages to programs.
GCN is a member of the Having Our Say, health and social justice network. As a member we disseminate information on legislative measures that impact the health, welfare, education and services to the general population of California. We also conduct legislative visits.
Health Education
Center of excellence in eliminating disparities
A 5 year subcontract with the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance to conduct breast and cervical cancer education, outreach, patient navigation, advocacy and community capacity building within the Chamorro community and Micronesian communities. The program provides support for the Malle Patient Navigation Program.
In collaboration with the City of Long Beach, Department of Health and Human Services and the Coalition for a Smoke-Free Long Beach, Project C.L.E.A.R. stands for “Community Leadership Education Action and Renewal. Our focus is on: 1) Smoking Cessation, 2)100% Smoke Free Outdoor Work Policies and 3) Local Anti-Tobacco Media Campaign.
Started in 2011, by Guam Communications Network (GCN) in partnership with the Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) through funding from the California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP), as a Southern California Chapter of Project RIDE.
